I grew up between upstate New York and Jacksonville, Florida, as a triplet in a family of six, surrounded by constant motion, noise, and connection. In the midst of that, I found something grounding in photography. Being behind the camera gave me a sense of calm and clarity, a way to observe the world more closely and hold onto moments that might otherwise pass by.
My love of photography began early. I watched my grandfather take pictures as a child, and as a teenager, he gave me my first camera, a simple but meaningful gift that changed everything. From that moment on, I began to see photography not just as a hobby but as something I wanted to pursue. That path led me to earn a Bachelor of Fine Arts with a concentration in photography, where I refined both my technical skills and my artistic voice.
In the fall of 2023, I spent a semester studying abroad in Athens, Greece, an experience that expanded my perspective in every way. Living in a place so rich with history, culture, and everyday beauty deepened my desire to travel, to observe, and to document the world through my lens. It reinforced my belief that some of the most meaningful images come from simply paying attention.
Today, as a freelance photographer, I focus on capturing people and the moments that matter most to them, whether it’s a milestone, a celebration, or a quiet, meaningful in-between moment. My approach is natural and intuitive, guided by a desire to create images that feel both honest and lasting.
Alongside my photography, I am also deeply drawn to illustration and fine art. I love working with pen and ink, and watercolor, where the fluidity of the medium allows for softness, movement, and a sense of spontaneity. My illustrations often carry a touch of whimsy and lightness, reflecting my belief that art can be both meaningful and joyful. I am also inspired by alternative photographic processes, particularly cyanotype, where light and chemistry come together to create striking, one-of-a-kind images. This blend of photography and hand-crafted artistry allows me to explore storytelling in a more tactile and expressive way.
Whether I’m working with a camera, colored pencils, or light-sensitive paper, my goal is always the same: to create something unique and thoughtful.
A Love of Alternative Art Photography
My Fine Art, blends alternative photography techniques with modern approaches, with a focus on abstract forms, people, places, and things that pass through my lens, capturing moments both unique and fleeting. For instance, I love working with cyanotype because it sits right at the intersection of photography and hands-on art. Unlike digital photography, which can feel quick and precise, cyanotype slows everything down. It’s a more tactile, intentional process, one where I’m really involved in each step, and that’s part of what makes it so special to me.
What is Cyanotype?
Cyanotype is an early photographic printing process, first developed in the 19th century, that uses a light-sensitive solution to create images in distinctive shades of deep blue. The process involves coating paper (or fabric) with a mixture of iron salts, placing objects or a negative on top, and exposing it to sunlight or UV light. When rinsed with water, the exposed areas turn a rich Prussian blue, while the covered areas remain white, resulting in a striking, high-contrast image.
